OFFICER NEEDS ASSISTANCE ![]()
Stamford Connecticut: December 17 2011--UPDATE Thank you to all who came to our fundraiser for Police Officer Luciano "Lucky" Cavalcante and to all those who sent donations. The event was a success and his family is very appreciative.. He received an even greater Christmas gift, a new heart. The surgery was a success, recovery is going so well that he is scheduled to go home this week. AMAZING and wonderful gift of life and a TERRIFIC show of support. Thank you again to all for your support and prayers.
STAMFORD CONNECTICUT: Police Officer "Lucky" Luciano Cavalcante needs your help. Lucky is a 21 year veteran of the Stamford Police force. Up until a few weeks ago he was an active patrol Officer. He is now flat on his back at Westchester Medical Center waiting on the Heart transplant list. Luciano is married and has three kids, one in middle school, one in college and one just graduated. When I spoke to him last week, he was very optomistic. We are running a benefit for Officer Cavalcante on December 7th, 2011 at 6:00pm in Stamford at Bradford's Grill and Tavern at 83 Bedford Street. Police Association of Connecticut Selects Ormond Romano LLC as Counsel of Record
Stamford CT — August 30, 2011 — The Law Firm of Ormond Romano LLC today announced their appointment as legal counsel for the Police Association of Connecticut (PAC). The recent appointment follows the death earlier this year of Atty. E. Gaynor Brennan, Jr. who had represented PAC for nearly four decades. A distinguished member of the bar and highly respected public servant, Brennan passed away in March.
2011 PAC Convention
The 2011 PAC Convention was held on Thursday, August 18th, 2011, at MountainRidge in Wallingford CT.
Members enjoyed a great steak dinner, as well as, the always tasty Rhode Island clam chowder.
Local Vice Presidents and members in attendance were able to get information from Bearingstar about home, auto and umbrella packages. MetLife provided information about their Life Insurance. Go to our Directory and click on INSURANCE to get contact information.

The Police Association of Connecticut was formed in 1902, " for the protection
and promotion of the welfare of the police officers of Connecticut; the improvement of their facilities to render to the public, whose servants they are, the most efficient possible service; the compilation of police statistics; the collection of information concerning the practical working of different systems of police organization; and cultivation of social intercommunication and fraternal fellowship between the different police departments of the state." The PAC is the oldest such statewide police organization in Connecticut.
Relief payments under By-Laws of Connecticut Police Association. When any person, under the provisions of the constitution and bylaws of the Connecticut Police Association, Inc. is entitled to relief from said association as the widow, child or dependent mother of a police officer killed in the line of duty, the Comptroller shall, upon the delivery to him of adequate proof from said association of the right of such person to such relief as foresaid, draw his order upon the State Treasurer in favor of the person or persons entitled to such relief, or their legal representatives, for the amount to which such person or persons may be entitled as relief as foresaid, provided such orders shall be limited to available appropriations, Sec. 3-122 "Connecticut General Statutes."
PAC's Mission
To provide for the protection and promotion of the welfare of police officers and to enhance the efficiency of the police in the various police departments of the state; to provide for the care and maintenance of the Memorial to our Fallen Comrades; to help ensure the comfort and welfare of dependent relatives surviving a member killed in the performance of his or her duty as provided for in our By-laws.
